Embroidery Workshop
Mothers and Daughters from the diverse local Muslim Community took part in a workshop over four weeks in Milton Keynes College to produce this stunning quilt.The Workshop, supported by “Faith in Action” was facilitated by the founder of AN- NISA- SOCIETY, Humera Khan and facilitator by Maryam Smit, with Sally Hutson, lecturer in Textiles at Milton Keynes College.
The workshop explored the many challenges that mothers and daughters face, and what common spiritual and cultural values they share with wider communities. The aim was to help build bridges and promote integration as well as developing better understanding of the values we all share together.
